Halcyon Garden discord server - you're invited! come chill! :3
discord.gg/B5xptRsHzG

First the announcement. I have made a discord server! You're invited!
Here's the link: https://discord.gg/B5xptRsHzG

The server is not going to replace the main page, it is just an additional place where I will post the near-daily photos. It is also a way to find me and connect on discord in case a direct friend request and DMs feel like too much (but if you would like to send a direct friend request instead, my discord name is in my profile sidebar if you follow me). I just want it to be a nice chill tiny place to find some solace and comfort for people who are already using discord.
It also has a channel for everyone to post their own nature and pet photos if they would like to do so.
There is no obligation to participate in any way, so if you'd just like to come chill and look at photos sometimes, that's cool.
Please note that the photo quality on discord is going to be worse due to its automatic image compression. Also I am posting only the photos there, no tags, accompanying text or alt text. These things will all continue to be available on the main page/blog though.

I have not yet decided on a place to move the main page/blog to. I'm also still taking feedback about where you would like to see my photos in the future. I have read all your comments so far and I'm going to think about it some more.

Ok, now for the photos. It was actually starting to get a bit chilly out today, which was pleasant.

sunset over the fallow field. the sky is clear above, but there are clouds at the horizon. the sun is casting rays from behind the clouds.

evening sky over the fallow field, the sun has already fully vanished behind the horizon clouds.

evening on the fallow field with chamomille flowers and young canola plants in the foreground.

leaves of a linden tree branch. some of them have turned yellow, others are still fully green.

I gathered fresh greens for the bunnies and then I visited the cow boys. With the changing season, flies are going to become less of an issue for them at least. They were very curious about whether I had any apples (I did not, sadly, but I will have some again on another day).

very close up of Paisley's snoot as he is checking whether I have treats for him.

This page is going to lose its home soon. This is sad and difficult for me since I have enjoyed Cohost very much and found it convenient and pleasant to use both for my personal page and for this photo page. I am definitely going to keep posting photos in a format similar to this page somewhere else in the future. Currently I am not sure where exactly that is going to be.

If you're interested in my photos, please let me know on what platform you would like to see them in the future.

I am considering fedi/mastodon, neocities or possibly other options too. But I will probably only be able to have the main page in a single place, so I'll have to pick one. I might also make a discord server on top of that since dropping just the daily photos there would be low effort enough.

If you have any opinions at all, please do comment.

As for today's photos, here they are. Autumn has arrived, as predicted. The vibes have completely changed overnight, the temperatures have dropped a lot, the wind is different, the sky is different, the scents are different. Just the leaves are still mostly green as of now.

a door in a dark wooden wall that is overgrown with plants and vines. the door is just a little bit open and there is more greenery on the other side.

sky with large grey and white clouds over the fallow field and some trees. there are some small parches of blue inbetween.

dramatic clouds which the sun is hiding behind

a large harvestman sitting on a leaf of a canola plant

some old plum trees in the foreground, in the distance between them is the apple orchard

an old plum tree with a hollow in it, overgrown with moss, some fallen leaves are scattered on it

closeup of a tree stump overgrown with moss that also has fallen brown leaves draped around its base

staghorn sumac leaves, still green currently, with the sun shining through from behind

I visited the cow boys and gave each of them apples.

cow boys Fernando and Leonardo looking silly, low perspective. Fernando is sticking his tongue out a little.

Fernando rubbing his face against Leonardo's side, he is looking very cute

the three cow boys standing and looking at me to see whether I have any more apples.

I got the bunnies a bunch of dandelion leaves and such.

It was the last day of the drought. The vibes outside had a quiet intensity.

the sky, grey and with a layer of thin fuzzy clouds that stretches all the way to the horizon

Remember everlasting pea, lush green vines, endless pink flowers? This is her now... feel old yet? (Not me, I feel young as always...... I think...)

tendrils of an everlasting pea plant that are now dried up and beige. there are a lot of spirally bits and it's partially covered in spiderwebs.

more pea tendril spirals

Snails are hiding in their shells for now, but the rain is going to come.

s snail tucked away into their spiral striped shell and resting on a pea plant leaf

another snail in their shell on another pea leaf, this one is just reddish brown, there is also a tiny baby snail on the side

leaves that have dried up and are rolled into narrow tubes

leaves of wild grape wines, they are dark green with 5 leaflets to every compound leaf

(The rain finally came, late at night.)

The following pictures are from yesterday. I was hanging out a little bit with the cow boys. They really like apples and they must have devoured all that were on the ground in their orchard pasture. Fernando is the biggest apple fan out of the current group, this is him trying to get me to give him some more:

There's another big apple tree just outside their fence and they were trying to reach for the fallen fruit there. I gave them a few. They took them right out of my hand.

post sunset sky over the trees next to the fallow field. the sky is mostly clear, with some wispy clouds and some orange tinted haze near the horizon

The last 2 pics are from today, hot and dry still. We are slowly moving into the beginning of autumn, that and the drought are contributing to crunchy leaves on the ground.

the sky over the fallow field a bit before sunset. the sun is glaringly bright and the sky is cloudless, with just a bit of haze at the horizon

a tall oak tree framed by other trees in the evening sunlight. some of the leaves are just starting to get some autumn colours.
